Before starting any online care pathway, take a moment to check whether the service is right for the problem in front of you. The safest route is not always the fastest route.
1. Check urgency
Severe symptoms, chest pain, breathing difficulty, sudden weakness, heavy bleeding, or rapidly worsening illness should be handled through urgent services, not an online form.
2. Have your details ready
Keep a list of current medicines, allergies, medical conditions, recent measurements if relevant, and the name of your GP practice if you are happy for information to be shared.
3. Answer plainly
Online pharmacy decisions depend on accurate answers. If you are not sure, say so. Guessing can delay care or make a pathway unsafe.
4. Expect follow-up
A pharmacist may ask for more information before making a decision. That is a normal part of remote care.
5. Know your route back
Use the same email, SMS, WhatsApp, or account route so the care team can connect your messages to the right record.
